Classes are the Fun and Social way to learn to dance!
Hello everyone. As many of you know by now, this year has been interesting for the Rochester Ballroom Club to say the least. It simply means that we are now teaching classes again on a limited basis at both Dance 22 in Webster, and the YMCA in Canandaigua. Please keep checking back here to see when the next classes will start.
Learn to dance from the best in Rochester! Sean will make you feel right at home, and get your feet moving in no time. At the Rochester Ballroom Club, you get experienced, highly trained instructors who are professional competitors as well as registered adjudicators. Dont miss out on the fun! People from all over are talking about the dancing and good times they are having at the RBC. The first step starts with you! Classes are a fun and inexpensive way to learn to dance! There are classes ranging from Beginner to Advanced technique. We also offer fun Mini-courses that concentrate on just one dance , so you can build your repertoire.
Here is a short description of the classes to give you an idea of what they're like:
FREE Open House:
You saw us in the paper... you heard us on the radio... you saw us on TV... and you thought it might be fun. Give us one hour and well show you how fun and easy learning to dance can be. You have nothing to lose. And, if youre a little reluctant about being awkward, remember...Two Left Feet Is Our Specialty

Feel like Dancing With the Stars? Then try one of our Beginner Classes and you too can be like a celebrity! These classes are designed with the absolute beginner in mind to take you from walking to dancing using movements already familiar to you. At the Rochester Ballroom Club we make learning fun and easy for people of all ages, so get a group of friends together and join us! Course Cost: Each course is 8 weeks long - 1 hour each week. Beg. I course is $80 pp, which includes a 6 month membership. Beg. II course is $80 pp. To Register for a Course: To make a reservation for a particular course, give us a call (or click here) and we will put your name on that list. You also need to send in a minimum $10 per person deposit to confirm the reservation. Balances are then due in full at the first class.
Beginner I: Foxtrot, Merengue, Hustle, and Rumba
Beginner II: Waltz, Tango, Cha-Cha, and Swing
Dance 22 location:
New Beginner I starts Sunday February 24th at 3:00pm
8 weeks, 8 hours - Youre ready to add new steps onto the Foxtrot, Rumba, and Swing. We also round out your new dances with the Fun Samba, and the Hot Mambo. $80 pp members
Sundays at 7:00pm - (Nothing Scheduled at this time)
6 weeks, 1 1/2 hours each class - A new twist on an old theme! This class will be structured a little differently: the first hour will be instruction, and the last half hour will be practice before the dance.We will be working on the sequence as well as the technique of the dances; with another Exam to be tentatively scheduled in 2008. Learn them for the first time or review them all over again. $75pp members.
Fridays at 6:30pm - (Nothing Scheduled at this time)
10 weeks, 10 hours each - This is new, and has been asked for in the past. You've learned the sequences, now what? Now it's time to get them better. Learn secrets to leading and following, proper walking, use of the knees, etc. Both classes will be the same format - the first two weeks will be general technique for each style, followed by two weeks ( 1 1/2 for Latin ) of practical application in each dance. Even if you don't know the sequences, you can take the class, as we will concentrate on figures. A $10 pp deposit is required. $100 pp members
Wednesdays at 8pm - (Nothing scheduled at this time)
4 weeks, 4 hours each - Here we just concentrate on one dance at a time. We add new steps and work on getting it to look better! $40pp members
